BE PART OF THE TRADITION...HOUSE A JUNIOR A POLAR BEAR!
The player housing (also called billeting) concept is something of a hockey tradition, and is especially important at the junior level of hockey.
It involves host families opening their homes to out-of-state or out-of-country players. It provides an opportunity for these young men to pursue the next step in
their developing hockey careers.
The billet programs also allows some individuals to complete high school educations, take college preparatory classes, and pursue part-time employment in the local community.
Please see the FAQ about housing a Polar Bear and to learn more about this great opportunity
to be part of the Polar Bear Tradition.

FORMER PHOENIX POLAR BEAR & PEORIA SKATER CURTIS KELNER WINS MEMORIAL CUP -
MAKES ARIZONA HOCKEY HISTORY
(Kitchener)
On Memorial Day the Spokane Chiefs became the first U.S. based team in 10 years to win the Memorial Cup, the championship of the Canadian Hockey League, with a 4-1 win over the host Kitchener Rangers. Dustin Tokarski backstopped the Chiefs with 53 saves and earned the tournament’s MVP honors and helped Spokane win their second Memorial Cup in franchise history.
Former Phoenix Polar Bear Curtis Kelner is the first player in Arizona Hockey History to get his name on the WHL “ED CHYNOWETH CUP” and the CHL “MEMORIAL CUP.” The Memorial Cup is the Holy Grail of Junior hockey and a trophy that was dedicated to the annual Champion of Canadian Major Junior Hockey in 1919 to memorialize those that had served and lost their life in the First World War. “This is the most exciting day of my hockey life to this point,” commented MEM CUP CHAMP Curtis Kelner. “I can’t say enough about my teammates, coaches, fans and the Spokane Chiefs organization.” “It is definitely one big family here with the Chiefs.”
Kelner resides and grew up in Peoria, AZ. He played two seasons for the Phoenix Polar Bears, won two WSHL Championships and played all his youth hockey with the Polar Ice. Kelner returns to Phoenix Friday.
